Fennel seeds arrived and it was time for another loaf...this one is rye + fennel seeds using brown sugar. recipe called for honey but the brown sugar was closer and the measuring spoon is easier to clean. The crust came out spectacularly good. never had much luck with the crust (using a machine) at altitude in Colorado (~6,000 feet) even after compensating for the altitude. oh well..I am here now and the machine is kicking ass...another wonderful loaf!
Ohhhh that looks delicious!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was good and it's almost gone. Next loaf is a 3 seed whole wheat with fennel, caraway & sesame seeds. It's amazing how little effort is involved...takes 5 minutes to add all the ingredients to the machine container and it's ready to bake! I need to experiment with some sun dried tomatoes and of course raisins...and maybe apples...apple bread?
ReplyDeleteApple bread sounds good! And sun dried tomatoes are always good in bread. There is a place here in town that sells homemade bread and one of them has sun dried tomatoes and cheese. Delicious!
DeleteI'm thinking about getting a dehydrator...might be fun to create some dried fruits for bread and as tasty snacks!
