Those are pretty. I had a bush in my back yard but it didn't do too well. The flowers never turned blue, they were more of a lavender shade. I read it had something to to with the PH in the soil.
Yes...it is the pH...and coffee grounds will get you the pH you need for a nice strong blue. These always turned a nice blue without intervention but I gave them a dose of compost last fall and my compost is probably 50% coffee grounds....I use ~40 grams/day so I generate over a kilogram of compost/month...it adds up!
